Building and Running AI in the Life Sciences Industry
Tuesday 12 May 2026, 11:15-12:45
Room: de Verlichting
Preliminary program – details may change.
Chairs: Ali May (dsm-firmenich, BioSB board) and Patrick Kemmeren (Princess Máxima MC, BioSB board)
The past year has seen rapid advances in AI across life sciences and computational biology - from foundation models to agentic systems supporting scientific workflows. These developments bring major opportunities to accelerate discovery and hypothesis generation, but also challenges around data, workflows, software development, and adoption in real R&D settings.
This session takes an industry perspective on how AI is being built and integrated across the full stack - from data infrastructure to modelling approaches such as machine learning, knowledge graphs, and large language models, through to systems that support hypothesis generation and decision-making.
The session concludes with a 30-minute panel discussion, inviting the academic audience to engage with industry speakers on shared challenges and opportunities.
